I love the idea of the inescapability of freedom and the acknowledgment of its constrains. It's not easy, to identify these constrains and understand which ones we can work around, and which ones we need to accept. I think sometimes we dwell on the constraints that we cannot escape from, since it distracts us from taking responsibility for the things we need to put a lot of work on to change.
I agree! It's so easy to fall into that trap and to avoid it requires regular assessment of your life and it's position. Not easy work but worthwhile, I think

Thanks for this. I especially liked "there is a profound sense of peace from accepting this kind of freedom, from really knowing that you can change tomorrow—especially in a time when so much is going badly in the world, and our ability to affect it feels ever more diminished." Knowing that you can make choices anew. An encouraging reminder when I need to get out of a funk. :)
Thanks for the lovely article Heather, I really enjoyed reading and am happy to hear about these subtle sentiments!
Love!
